Years ago, I read about this fascinating case involving a young Texas mom, Darlie Routier, who was convicted of killing her two children, Damon and Devon, while her new baby and husband slept in a bedroom upstairs. It is widely held she killed them due to her inability to keep up a lavish lifestyle on the verge of insolvency. Darlie sustained stab wounds herself, but it was decided that she brutally stabbed and killed her 2 young boys in the living room of their lavish Dallas area McMansion because a) only her fingerprints and DNA were at the scene, b) she had a history of depression and money problems, c) her injuries were minor while those of the boys were beyond grave, d) days later, she was laughing and mugging at the boy's graves, e) there was no sign of forced entry and f) the "killer" left her husband Darin and new baby alone, g) she showed no visible emotion upon being transported to the hospital and did not ask for the condition of her children h) there was broken glass all over the kitchen floor and she admittedly was in the kitchen tussling with the perpetrator, yet, had no cuts on her feet and a host of other reasons. Husband Darin also seems rather sketchy, referring to his wife's breast implants continually during the discovery process. As if the Police care about them; "have you seen how hot my wife is?" Um, okay.
Seems while Darlie sits in prison, awaiting execution, her family has mounted a website, an appeal and some of the original investigators and jurors are taking a fresh look at the case. Some say maybe she didn't do it. Darlie maintains her innocence. After reading or knowing about her case, what do you all think? Wrongfully convicted or a victim of circumstantial evidence?
