Domestic abuse, murders, rape all UP since economy tanked.

More on this later, but the week has brought far too many heartbreaking stories, the murder-suicide at the Michigan college, the stabbing at Gettysburg College, the murder of Sandra Cantu by a Sunday School teacher in Tracy, CA, the rape of an elderly woman by teens under age 16 in Florida.

I am hanging up my pen for the day. On this holiest of Saturdays, my heart just breaks.

I hear you. I have to Altar serve at 8:PM and was stopped by a cop on my way this AM to go to Altar Server Rehearsal for the crime of disposing of my trash in a public trash bin because the ones my landlord provides were full. He gave me a 100.00 fine. I am fighting it.

But seriously- with all heinous crime in the world going on, have these police officers nothing better to do than fine me because I disposed of 2 bottles of vinegar and a Pass egg dying tray on 70th and 2nd - all trash from Easter goody bags I was making for my Parish Staff?

Someone shoot me please

I found your blog after watching your story on TLC - and wanted to say thank you for doing this work.

It is a comfort to see someone standing up and saying rape is never ok and is always a crime.

liz,

the sandra cantu murder happened here in CA.

it's murders against children like this that really test my opposition to the death penalty.

@ blue - thank you - and keep following. xoxo

@ Mario - yes, I knew that. It was the other case (the last one cited) that was FLA. I cannot begin to understand the Cantu murder. The motive? So much for fitting a profile. My heart breaks for these people.
