You know what? No matter what the verdict here , this was going to have massive fallout. I hope Ray Kelly is prepared for this.
In short, Sean Bell was at a strip club the night before his wedding. He came out of the club in the wee hours of the morning, off-duty cops thought he and his friends had guns and he was gunned down in a hail of 50 bullets. Of course, Al Sharpton is all up in this mess although this should NOT be a racial issue at all.
As big as my love is for Springsteen, you may all recall that whole Amadou Diallo "41 Shots" mess wasn't good for his career. When the boys in blue won't do a Springsteen detail, you know it's bad. I don't know what to think. Sadly, this shit happens all the time. A veteran cop in Baltimore was killed by another off-duty cop at a strip club this week as well. What to do? What do we think of these killings? Are they sometimes justified? Mistakes? Self-defense? All of the above?
