OK - do we see a pattern here?

Alex Kelly, the notorious rapist from my neck of the woods was released on November 23. He apparently moved right back to his parents' house in Darien, which makes sense as they funded his 8 years of luxe life on the lam (when he escaped to Europe) and his (10K) reparations to the Victims' Compensation Fund, which allowed him his release. I applaud those two women for their tenacity at Parole hearings. Bravo!

So, he's done his time, I get it, so don't jump on me about how he's paid his debt to society, blah blah blah. Yes, he has - to society. What about to those girls? And what about the long suffering girlfriend he left almost dead in the road during the car wreck before he stood trial? Story goes - he was awaiting trial and had a curfew, skidded in the rain, crashed and physically ran home so he wouldn't be caught on a violation. I believe they are still together. No words for that.

He also has "apologized to his victims repeatedly" and blamed the fact that he raped these girls on his "hypercompetitive" streak - huh? What I never understood is how the first jury was confused as to how he could pin down his victim with one arm while working the seat release latch with the other. He was an all-American wrestler for DHS. How dumb can a jury be? Dumb enough that it ended with no conviction that time and Mr. Kelly had to be retried when another vic finally stepped forward, strengthening the stupid jury's belief that "Gee, maybe he has done something wrong". I always find it curious when people need multiple victims in order to believe a crime has been committed. Perhaps that second victim, like many, didn't want to come forward, as many don't.

However - this photo? Pure evil - the kind of thing that makes you sleep with the nightlight, the chandelier, the lamps and the halogens on with a flashlight under your pillow. Call me out, but I'm freaked out that he's out. I don't want to see his face, especially not doing his community service at my chosen therapy center - thank you, Judge ______.

UPDATE: Mr. Kelly's registration address is listed as "Darien Plumbing and Heating, Inc." How can that be? Perhaps he's working from home.

Mario,

I agree, ergo, the post title. Wealthy? Check. Preppy? Check. Apologist? Check. Wearing a GPS monitoring device? Check. Scary? Check.

Of course, when I surfaced from the holiday and saw the photo, I blanched - total recall, no?

It's the beginnings of a Rogue's Gallery of ridiculously entitled rapists. Sadly, this one lives miles from me. That GPS keeps him IN this state. Ah, well.
