You may all recall the Andrew Luster rape trials - he was the scion of the Max Factor cosmetics fortune who had a nasty habit of slipping women GHB and raping them in his posh southern California beach house. He also had a penchant for videotaping his crimes. Oops. He jumped bail and ran to Mexico until Duane "Dog" Chapman, the bounty hunter, found him and dragged his sorry ass back here, although he had already been convicted in absentia.
Seems I missed this bit. One of the victims was successfully awarded $19 million in a civil suit by a jury. Good for her. All the survivors out there, read about her after-effects. Does it sound familiar? I thought so. My thoughts are with all of Luster's victims and my thanks are with the Judge, jury and Mr. Chapman for bringing this terrible rapist to justice.
