So, this week saw the imminent release of Alex Kelly, the Preppy rapist from Darien (he is scheduled for release on November 23). Alas, there's a kink in his "smooth reentry" (thank, Hookers) to society. I'm just saying - that phrase is a poor one, considering, um, a rapist. But I digress...
The interesting point about this release? He may NOT get his release as he owes $10K to the Victim Compensation Fund and all he has is $78 in his prison commissary fund. The judge suggested his parents, who live in a Darien manse, might pay it for him. Kelly demurred, stating it was his responsibility. Well now - how ironic, as his parents bankrolled the guy for 8 years while he was on the lam in Europe before the law finally caught up with him - he skipped out on his first trial with the help of his parents' checkbook.
Please God, he doesn't get a job at Smoothie King or somesuch place here in Fairfield County. We don't need that.
And the Preppy Murderer? He's about to go back to jail forever for trafficking massive amounts of blow out of his Sutton Place apartment. That Karma boomerang does come whipping back quickly. Funny how the drug charges add up to 150 years. Murder of Jennifer Levin - 15 years. No surprises there and Morgy is probably happy. He should be as Linda Fairstein did her job flawlessly! I hope the Levin family finds some peace today.

if not: he's nothing but a putrid lowlife! what i found particularly disgusting about him was the utterly heartless and callous way he made fun of how he killed jennifer levin by laughingly twisting the doll's head on the video tape! he had absolutely *no remorse* whatsoever for having killed her--*none*!
of course, he has every right to fight these new charges in court if he so chooses and to have zealous defense representation! but if he's found guilty, or if he pleads guilty, then throw away the key!

tragically, as we know, women are sometimes killed during the course of a sexual assault, as jennifer was.
i read in one of the articles that a student was raped and murdered at UVa the same year that jennifer was killed. i'm assuming you heard about it. did you know the young lady who was murdered, or know of her?
what i found disturbing was that UVa was *still* trying to sweep incidents of rape under the rug--*twenty* years after the assault against you (hence the protests by students).
