With relief comes some sadness, bewilderment and utter madness.

I saw this headline today and was so happy that they had found this 12-year-old girl. Then, I was saddened as she had indeed been sexually assaulted by Billy Don Potts, who is on the lam, armed and dangerous.

Then, I scrolled down to the part which says that she and her family lived with the perp. Attention adults: are you so hard up for housing that you would live with YOUR CHILD in the same home as a registered sex offender??! Do you know what you've indirectly done to contribute to her future (undoubtedly) fucked up life? Children are the most precious resource and it's your job to protect her, you asshats. YOU should be charged as well.

Normally, I can see both sides of any argument, but I'm sorry because, as a society, we just don't seem to give a goddamn anymore. Where does that leave us? I want to believe and I do believe that most people are good. How does that belief jibe with this report?

God forgive me, but I can't...excuse my language today.

liz,

there's no need to apologize for your language! sometimes profane words are the *only* words that can *truly* express our *justified* feelings of outrage or indignation!

let it rip, sister!
