For anyone who grew up on the Jersey Shore, or spent summers there, fortune teller Madame Marie Castello was a fixture on the dilapidated (and now regentrified) boardwalk of Asbury Park, New Jersey. As famous as the Stone Pony tavern, Madame Marie was immortalized in the early Springsteen song, "Fourth of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)". Her Temple of Knowledge booth was the oldest on the Boardwalk. Madame Marie passed away this week of natural causes.
